FRONT PORCH PORTRAITS
FIVE YEARS LATER…
Let’s re-create yours.
Five years ago, I photographed hundreds of Southside families staying at home at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a meaningful and joyful project that provided us with connection and purpose. And together we raised over $12,000 for the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
It’s five years later and our lives look different. How have we changed? How have we stayed the same?
If I took your Front Porch Portrait in 2020, and you live on the south side, I am inviting you to re-create that family photograph. I'll be posing you exactly as you were 5 years ago, to emphasize both changes and similarities.
How can a photograph help you reflect
on the passage of time?
❤️❤️❤️ my family, then and now ❤️❤️❤️
Time is….🤯
Here's how it works:
1. DONATE AND CHOOSE A DATE
You’ll make a $150 donation directly to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Email me the receipt along with your date and time preference (choices are below), and I will confirm your time slot.
2. PHOTOSHOOT!
At your appointed date and time, I will show up and help you all get posed into the same exact configuration that you were 5 years ago. It will take about 5-10 minutes. Short and sweet…and we can do hugs this time around!
You'll receive your digital image within 2 weeks of the shoot.
IMPORTANT (please read):
Please note that I cannot accommodate cancellations or rescheduling requests. This is a direct donation to the food bank, and I cannot refund your donation, nor can I reschedule. My photoshoot calendar and my family calendar are not as flexible as they were in 2020 and it will be too difficult to accommodate schedule changes, especially since I am not earning any income from the project. Thank you for understanding.
In addition, participants must grant me permission use the photo on my website, social media accounts, and other forms of marketing. Upon request, I can keep names anonymous.

FAQ’S
-What if it rains?
If it's a light drizzle, the shoot is still on. If it's pouring, we'll reschedule. It might take us 2 months to find a time, but we’ll make it work!
-What if you cancel?
I'll reschedule within 2 months.
-We are missing some people from our 2020 photo. What should we do?
The absence or addition of a person is significant, and should be documented. I have some suggestions for different situations, and we can talk about that.
-Can we add time to the shoot to do a few more family photos?
No; this project is all about recognizing those crazy pandemic feels. :)
If you would like additional photos, please get in touch about scheduling a separate Family Photo Session.
-A different photographer did our porch portrait in 2020. Can we still do this?
Yes, as long as you get permission from the photographer for me to post their image (with photo credit).
